Vermont Widows Sons of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Vermont will sponsor their tenth annual Veterans Motorcycle Event. The funds raised for this worthy cause have been through merchant and corporate donations as well as individual contributions received from sponsors and motorcycle enthusiasts. All donations and contributions go exclusively to the veterans serviced by the White River Junction (VT) VA Hospital. These are then distributed by the Voluntary Services Division to those veterans in need. Collectively over the past six years, more than $40,600.00 has been donated to these veterans. Last year’s event raised over $6,700.00 with motorcycle riders from three New England States taking part in this fundraiser. According to the VA Voluntary Services, the Veterans Ride is the largest donor of its kind that supports our veterans.

Your tax deductable donation will help make this years event successful again this year and most importantly you can be a part of this worthy cause by supporting our service veterans in need.

1. What geographical areas are serviced by the White River Junction VA Center?

Answer: The WRJ VA Center services all of VT and Northern NH from Manchester to Canadian border.

2. Do you accept coupons or Gift Cards as a donation?

Answer: Most coupons and gift cards are generally not user friendly to our veterans for redemption due to logistics and other various reasons. It is therefore our goal to solicit for monies in lieu of coupons and gift cards.

3. Does the money go to the VA Administration?

Answer: The donations received go directly to the Voluntary Services within the VA so as to preclude going into a general fund of the VA which imposes stringent distribution guidelines.

4. Does Pulaski Lodge advertise this event?

Answer: Yes. It can be found on numerous electronic bulletin boards, calendars, social media, and merchant’s windows via posters, public radio announcements and local newspapers. Some corporate donations are solicited specifically for newspaper/radio advertisements but these costs vary and can run well over $150.00.

5. What types of services are the Vets receiving with my donation?

Answer: The donations brought to Voluntary Service are on behalf of the VA and are used for Veterans that are enrolled at the WRJ facility. Several accounts are available to provide for activities and needs of WRJ Veterans. These include a Holiday Fund, Recreational Therapy, Unrestricted Veteran needs to purchase certain types of clothing, just to name a few.

6. Is there any recognition to the companies that contributed to the support of this cause?

Answer: Previous year’s donor’s names were printed on an event t-shirt that all participants received on the day of the ride and a Certificates of Appreciation were presented to ALL donors. The t-shirt listing may not be possible this year due to the anticipated number of donors. So in addition to the Certificate a booklet listing all sponsors and merchants will be printed and handed to the riders at time of event registration.

7. What is the "Vermont Widows Sons Motorcycle Association"?

Answer: Vermont Widows Sons Motorcycle Association is comprised of Vermont Masons that seek to promote the Masonic fraternity and to support our Brothers, their widows and orphans through the common love of motorcycling.

8. Is there a specific account established to receive and process my check?

Answer: Yes. Pulaski Lodge has established a special account for the deposit of all monetary donations ensuring that checks can be processed immediately and effectively. Payment of the donations raised is made to the Voluntary Services Division from this fund promptly after the event date.

9. Can I make a check for my donation payable to the White River Junction VA?

Answer: As a 501 (c) 10 Charitable Organization, you will receive a receipt for your donation if payable to the Pulaski Lodge - 2016 Veteran Ride. We are unable to issue a receipt on behalf of the White River Junction VA Center.
